This is a regular thing around here. As soon as we get home they change into some kind of dress up outfit. On any given day I have little fairies, princesses, and ballerinas running around the house. And I know it won’t last forever. So I had to capture it one day- her little round belly sticking out over the tutu, dimply elbows, how she constantly clutches a doll under her arm…. heaven… and now it will last forever.
I love Halloween and so does my kiddo. And even though it doesn’t feel like it, fall is here! I decorated my house the other day for Halloween and it was 100 degrees outside but that’s ok, Southern Cal. is taking her sweet time I guess. I’m still undecided about doing Halloween costume mini-sessions but I have the most perfect location if I do. It’s green and overgrown and enchanting and magical.
A little peek from her 5 year old birthday shoot. I had something entirely different in mind but that pretty much sums this kiddo up. She is her own person and she knows what she wants to do. It was a beautiful evening at the beach during a heat wave. Even the coast reached 99 degrees! A fire at Camp Pendleton made the sunset amazing. More to come.
As soon as I saw Leotei I knew we had to do something special with her and I am so glad her ultra cool mom was up for it. My sis and I brain stormed for forever….Alice in Wonderland? no….fairy? no. We came up with with this “Dream” concept and wanted it to be light and ethereal and well, dreamy. Leotei is simply angelic and was perfect for this. Then came the blue and gold dress and the stars, the gold net and the dust.
These shots were a little bonus as we were leaving. She ran up to this fountain and sat down and as all little ones do, starting playing in the water.
Happy Birthday to the sweetest little girl ever! Gigi is such a cool kiddo- she is always smiling and laughing and what I think is so awesome about her- she will eat anything. I know this is a funny thing to mention but I have a two year old who is the pickiest eater on earth and I love that Gigi will eat onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, mustard even. And she’s my daughter’s BFF.
Ok, first crazy weeks of school over and I’m finishing up this “Dream” session from a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to share another that I adore.

I learned some sad news over the weekend. The little girl Monica, whom I have taken pictures of many times, her pony Honey Bun died. It makes me so sad because, well not only was she Monica’s pony since she was a toddler but Honey Bun was the coolest pony ever! I used her again recently and she was so sweet and mellow. Rest in peace Honey Bun! I’m so very glad we did this shoot so Monica has a memory of her pony forever.
Today was my oldest’s first day of kindergarten. Way back when it seemed like she would forever be a baby, a little girl. And it just goes by way too fast. Now she’s a big girl and it’s a whole other world. My night owl who can sleep in all morning has to get up early and go five days a week! Away from me, off to learn and make friends. Last night she said, “I’m a little excited and a lot scared.” She did well though. She is so outgoing and extroverted most of the time but every once in a while she’ll cling to my leg and won’t stop looking at me. I secretly was loving it though, because she held my hand the entire time we walked to class and back to the car, which she never usually does. I didn’t want to let go……
