June 26, 2013 Cousins
Last weekend we took out my dad’s ’59 Volkswagon Bus to do a shoot with him for Father’s Day. He’s a born and raised So Cal boy, back when there were orange groves everywhere. He tells us stories about playing hide and seek in them with his brother and hit oranges with his baseball bat. There are still a few groves around and we found a perfect spot. Still working on them, but here are some of the cousins.

June 16, 2013 Happy Father’s Day!
This was from last year, it was a spur of the moment thing to bring my camera with us. Looking at these pictures now I am so glad I did. Like every other mom I take a gazillion pictures of my kids and very few pictures of myself and even fewer pictures of their dad. It’s going to have to be a new tradition, pictures of them for Father’s Day. And even though I can just pictures my daughter’s face at the thought of “more pictures?”, ha ha, she’ll appreciate it later.
Happy Father’s Day to all the awesome father’s out there!
June 1, 2013 Last day of Kinder and a Mustard Field
My kiddo graduated from Kindergarten yesterday. So crazy, because in kinder they are still little, but first grade seems like big kid territory. She wore this same dress on her first day of school and when I compared her to herself 9 months before I couldn’t believe it. Official big girl first grader. I was planning on just taking a couple of pictures so I took her to this little mustard patch down the street from her school. But her being her, she starting running wild and I had to chase her. So it ended up being a full on photo shoot. The location and light were just too perfect. And this dead tree she just had to climb is awesome.

April 25, 2013 Matilda Jane + Babiekins in New York
This is from my recent trip with the Babiekins team to New York. We shot the sweetest little girl, Ryleigh, who drove from Pennsylvania and we walked all around the city in the Flatiron/Chelsea area. This was seriously the highlight of the trip. Ryleigh was so fun, we were going up and down each street and she was telling jokes and singing and laughing. And I took her to a spot where the Empire State building was right behind her and it hit me, I’m taking pictures in NY. Insane. I love that city, I fell in love. It really is as amazing as everyone says. I think about going back every day and I miss it. And this shoot sums up the trip perfectly it up perfectly, the buildings, the energy, the people.
